Kim Castillo sent this photo of a space invader on a building in Hillcrest, San Diego. She said that according to a local, the piece was done by the French artist's cousin living in San Diego. The local further reports that "space-invading" is a family thing. The family, spread out across the States, does the same tag. How's that for an urban legend?
